Highland games have been a part of Scotland's culture for hundreds of years and are just as popular today as they've ever been. Built around traditional Highland sports such as the caber toss, tug o' war and the hammer throw, the Highland games also includes Highland dancing and of course pipe bands.
The current Isle of Bute Highland Games have been taking palce on Bute since 1947. A hugely popular event on the local calendar celebrating this sporting tradition, with pipe bands, dancers and sports people from around over Scotland and beyond.
The skirl of the pipes in the battle fo the Pipe Bands, the skill and grace of the Highland dancers and good old fashioned competion such as athletics, tug of war and caber tossing.
